ComTrack-AGC enables a CTI-850-controlled antenna to track a satellite operating in an inclined orbit by monitoring the AGC output voltage of a satellite receiver.  ComTrack-AGC incorporates all standard features of CTI-850 CONTROL software, plus tracking.  ComTrack-AGC runs directly on the CTI-850, replacing CONTROL.

ComTrack-AGC is intended to be used with the following equipment:

·        A dual-axis satellite antenna.  The antenna must be capable of acquiring an inclined-orbit satellite throughout its entire range of travel.
·        A satellite receiver capable of providing an analog AGC voltage output.
·        A CTI-850 Satellite Antenna Controller equipped with an expansion card which accepts the receiver AGC voltage.

ComTrack-AGC
operates as follows:

·        When the CTI-850 is installed, the user first locates and "calibrates" all desired satellites, both geostationary and inclined-orbit.

·        If the user calibrates an inclined-orbit satellite, it is also necessary to allow ComTrack-AGC to track the satellite for approximately 24 hours so that it can compile a "history" of the satellite's track.  Any number of inclined-orbit satellites can be calibrated; however, the CTI-850 must be allowed to compile a separate history for each, either continuously or in small time increments.

It is, of course, possible to track an inclined-orbit satellite without first compiling a history; however, the user must first find the satellite manually.

ComTrack-AGC can be used in conjunction with ComSched for DOS or ComSched for Windowsâ, CTI's Satellite Antenna Scheduling and Remote Control software package.  When ComSched issues a command ordering the CTI-850 Controller to go to the preset position of an inclined orbit satellite, the antenna moves to the satellite’s predicted position.  When AGC voltage becomes present, the antenna is automatically peaked and tracking commences.
