The CTI-3.8M-DA Satellite Antenna/Controller
Package includes all hardware and software required to implement a
receive site capable of operating with C-
and Ku-band geostationary and inclined-orbit satellites.
Turnkey installation services are available.
The standard package includes:
Antenna:
Comtech 3.8-meter with dual axis mount.
Capable of tracking inclined-orbit satellites.
Two-port C/Ku feedhorn including digital-ready LNBs.
Foundation and Electrical Plans:

Provide foundation plans that can be used by a local concrete
contractor.
Prepare electrical plans in a form that can be used by a local
electrical contractor.
Consult with customer-selected contractors by phone as necessary to
answer question or interpret plans.

Controller:
CTI-850 Antenna Controller configured to control one antenna.
Up to 500 preset positions.
Rack-mounted with keypad and display.
Floppy-disk drive for easy software upgrades.
Antenna Interface Unit:
Provides control and drive power for the hour angle,
declination, and polarization motors.
Interfaces with the optical shaft encoders that sense antenna position.
Communicates with the CTI-850 Controller.
Installed at the antenna in a weatherproof housing.
Optical Shaft Encoders:
Sense position of the hour angle, declination, and
polarization axis.
Provide digital signals to indicate position.
Drift problems as experienced with potentiometers do not exist.
Shipping:
Freight charges for shipping the antenna, controller, and all
equipment to the site.
Options
Four-Port Motorized C/Ku Feed:
With installed optical shaft encoder, cable, and connector.
Includes digital-ready LNBs
Deicing:
Full-reflector electric deicing.
ComSched for Windows:
Scheduling and remote control software.
Controls and schedules as many as four CTI-850 controllers and sixteen
antennas.
Schedules the receivers
Customized ComSched for Windows:
May be configured to schedule and control VTRs, routing
switchers, coaxial relays,
L-band switchers, and satellite receivers not accomodated by the
standard version of ComSched.
ComTrack-TLE:
Software installed on CTI-850 Controller for tracking
inclined-orbit satellites.
Uses “Two-Line Element” data.
Does not require AGC voltage from a receiver.
ComTrack-AGC:
Software installed on CTI-850 Controller for tracking
inclined-orbit satellites.
Uses AGC voltage from a receiver.
Cables:
RG-11 type coaxial cable and connectors for the RF feeds from
the LNBs and the control line from the indoor CTI-850 Controller to the
Antenna Interface Unit.
Receivers:
Standard Communications Corporation model MT930B.
Control System
Installation Services:
Install and connect the antenna control system including the
control computer and the CTI-850 Controller in customer-specified
locations.
Install all operating software including ComSched and/or ComTrack.
Test control system.
Calibrate preset positions.
Provide training for customer personnel.
Antenna and
Control System Installation Services:
Provide all services listed under “Control System
Installation Services”.
Assemble and construct the antenna on a customer-furnished foundation.
Track the antenna.
